FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Springfield, Oregon • Holt, Michigan • Grinnell, Iowa
The Hayden Bridge purchase closed on June 30, 2016 with The N. Skunk River Greenbelt Association (NSRGA) & and it's construction preservation arm, Workin' Bridges, the new owner. Since then, NSRGA / Workin' Bridges has been reaching out to the local and county officials, state and regional preservationists and professionals to gather community input for the Hayden Bridge Preservation Project. To that end, the team will return to Oregon on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26 & 27, to meet as many people as they can, gathering ideas from the community for the area. The public is invited to share their ideas with the Workin' Bridges team of Diane Roth and Anna Sutherland during their visit to Oregon
"Before we do anything, we need to know what people want, and let them know what a great asset they have, crossing the McKenzie River in North Springfield. "Our mission is to preserve these bridges, now that we have done that, our sights can shift to the future, stated Julie Bowers, Executive Director of Workin' Bridges. We've been negotiating this purchase for a year, now we can let the community know and find out enough to ask great questions."
Diane and Anna will introduce Workin' Bridges and present the history of Hayden Bridge to the Springfield Historic Commission at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, July 26 at Jesse Main Room, Springfield City Hall, 225 Fifth Street, Springfield.
Community Outreach: Idea Generation will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday July 27 at the Chamber of Commerce in the Depot at 101 S. A Street, Springfield.
