About This Kool Project

The Journey Begins:

After nearly a year, Marsh Creek Bridge - an 1889 King Iron Bridge Co. half hip pony truss begins the next part of its life. This 68' bridge will sit at Auburn Heights Preserve on Farm Lane. Breathing new life into this truss is Nels Raynor of BACH Steel, Jim Schiffer of Schiffer Engineering and Julie Bowers of Workin' Bridges. The team is working with a great DNREC team, led by Matt Chesser, Cindy Todd, Laura Lee, Kevin Richilicki, and engineering services with RKK.

The project has gone through the procurement, the engineering and planning stages, and the bridge is being disassembled in the next few days. It's the thinking about the process that will make it successful, as noted in our album cover. Once the weeds were removed and the highway S guard rail taken down, it will be disassembled.
