Freedom High School Automotive Metal Shear
Freedom High School Automotive has been educating students in automotive, collision repair, and restoration since 1972! FHS has been a leader in automotive education in Wisconsin and the midwest and has been recognized nation wide! Despite programs success, funding is always a challenge! Recently the program was in great need of new a new metal cutting shear. This shear would replace an older, outdated, and ineffective model. Working in conjunction with Baileigh Industrial and a grant from the RPM foundation FHS was able to purchase a new 5214 hydraulic shear. This hydraulic shear is 52" wide and can cut up to 14 gauge steel. The shear enables FHS students to cut sheet metal safely and accurately, greatly increasing their learning and success during the fabrication process. FHS students have already used the shear in various metals project and have fabricated sheet metal patches, floor boards, and boxes using the shear. It has been a great and much needed addition to the program!
