Ray-Cam Soapbox Derby

Ray-Cam Soapbox Derby is an annual community event for the children and youth that started in 2014. The race track is the back alley off the Campbell Avenue behind Ray-Cam CC. The event grew to 56 racers in 2015.
Ray-Cam Soapbox Derby is organized and delivered in partnership with Vancouver Police Foundation and Vancouver Police Department. The soapbox racers are built with the help from youth in NASKARZ Program at Vancouver Community College and under the guidance of volunteers from Jelly Beans Autocrafters.
In 2015 the highlight of the race was the celebrity portion of the event that saw the Fire Chief beat the Police Chief in a close race. 2016 Soapbox Derby is set for August 19th.
