About This Kool Project

The RPM Foundation funding will provide partial scholarships to Auto Body Repair students at Greenville Technical College. The funds will be applied directly to each student's tuition account, allowing students to use other funds to purchase the required tools needed to be an efficiant technician. This project will showcase students utilizing their restoration and preservation techniques and technical skills.

Metal Fabrication is an imperative skill when pursuing a career in automotive restoration. It is a true form of artisanship. The video showcases Mr. Cliff Styles, an Auto Body Repair instructor, demonstrating how to make an aluminum motorcycle fender. Styles uses multiple tools, like a sandbag and mallet, an English Wheel, a mechanical shrinker/stretcher, and more. Students in the Greenville Tech Auto Body Repair program take a course in metal shaping and fabrication. The students must duplicate the same process as Styles and create their very own motorcycle fender.
