FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                          KALONA, IOWA

Discounts on "Summer Friends Passes" Available Through May

With the Friends efforts continuing to finish the restoration of Bunker Mill Bridge in Kalona, Iowa there is a lot of news regarding our summer line up of great local, regional and nationally touring singer / songwriters. Sponsors for the events are being sought as well - your donation of $200 will give you a well stocked picnic basket the night of the show.

 • Almost Acoustic Tuesdays  – begins May 19 with Jeffrey Foucault, a nationally touring songwriter. This should serve to get everyone excited about the summer line up that starts June 16 with Cedar County Cobras. We have some new artists this summer and some favorites from last year. David Gans, Joe & Vicky Price, and Dave Zollo will be other special Tuesday guests. See Full List in attached file. All Tuesday shows begin at 6:30pm.

 * Second Saturdays – May 9 kicks off our summer at the bridge with Catfish Keith, international touring Washington, Iowa living musician. Catfish sent these thoughts on playing the bridge - "The Bunker Mill Bridge is a rare and beautiful spot, a natural amphitheater. Right on the English River, the atmosphere created there is magic; the audience brings their lawn chairs onto the bridge, lit up with tiki lamps, and the truly acoustic sounds of singing and guitar pull you in, like a magnet. The concert series was started with a passion to help fund the refurbishment of the Bunker Mill Bridge. I love playing there, and hearing other acoustic musicians play there too. It is the purest way to enjoy a beautiful Iowa Spring or Summer evening out on the river. I hope you can join us! Dave Moore will play on June 13, Dave Zollo and the Body Electric on July 11, and we will finish out the summer with Catfish Keith on September 12. All Saturday shows begin at 7:00pm.

A farmer's / flea style market will be open on all event days, supported by Old Mill Marketplace. Vendors are welcome to call and request a space.

This year a suggested donation of $5 for Tuesday events and $10 for special Tuesdays and Saturdays is being requested of Friends. The funds raised will go to bridge restoration and event costs. A "Summer Fun Pass" will be available for $60 through May. A summer pass comes with membership privileges to Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge including a new t-shirt featuring the new logos.
