The body is still at the shop, panels are being torn off and replaced with new pieces. It is starting to look a lot better!
356B Super 90
Welcome to the new project at MAAP, a 1960 356B with a special feature: Porsche's first ever electric sunroof. This project is already showing us what its' major problems will be, mostly stemming up from a bewildering amount of rusting seen consistently throughout the body. The grey color that you can see on this car is at least the fifth coat of paint that the car has received over the years, so some sanding and paint depth measuring are in order to assess the complete condition of the body panels. To sweetenthe deal with this car, the powertrain is more advanced than the standard B engine from the 1960's. This car was outfitted with the "Super 90" engine. This paired with a few more special options it was ordered with make it the only known 356 of its kind, so it was sure exciting enough to catch the eye of our executive director and secured a spot in our garage. Hopefully this car can be placed on the back lift soon and be given the shop's focus to help advance the disassembly process. Stay tuned for more details on the condition of the body and powertrain!
